The Minnesota Plan is a plan and a movement for putting The People back in charge of our democracy. Proportional Representation, Mandatory Retirement Ages, Campaign Finance Reform, we got it all.
The original Non-Partisan League was focused on economic relief for farmers. the New Non-Partisan League would run candidates in both parties to pass The Minnesota Plan. Getting rid of the mandatory two party system, allowing for multiple parties that represent the people to flourish.

The original non-partisan league was a caucus that sought to get its members elected to the state legislature through winning primaries in the then dominant republican party in both ND and MN. So rather than running third party and dealing with the spoiler effect the won from the inside.

Justices would have to be re confirmed by that new 2/3 senate approval to clear the slate. There should also be as many Supreme court judges as appeals districts, which used to be the case. So currently 13.

Super young judges from being appointed to the Supreme Court and staying thier for 40 to 50 years. Returning the senate confirmation to 2/3 and making that a constituent requirement to reduce the chances of highly partisan appointments. Also, upon ramification of that amendment, all current

Have no major reforms to advocate outside of RCV. But we are open to changing that stance and adding additional reforms.

The federal courts:
Mandatory retirement ages, more on that in general tomorrow, and term limits for the Supreme Court along the lines of 24 years to prevent

The main change we would advocate for is using RCV for those elections just like the executive. Bit Minnesota has done a good job of keeping its judiciary to non-partisan. Most judges don't even face a challenger in elections. The judiciary is not perfect in Minnesota, but at this time, we

Again. On the federal level it will again be direct party vote. And the senate will also be increased 3 time it's size to about 301. Again to prevent ties. This means the seat vote threshold will be about .33% allowing for a diver set of parties to represent a divers set a beliefs in the USA.

Balanced.
Federal:
Checks and Balances was one of the founding principle of our government. Originally the states who's legislature originally picked senators vers the people who elected the house. That is no longer the case but now with these systems the two house will balnce each other

Another way the two houses would balance each other is that in the senate the parties have much more controls of who can be elected into the chamber. With no primaries in STV the voters get to control in the house. Each election system balances the flaws of the other so the legislature is

The benefits of the direct party vote is its simplicity compared to STV. And it also balances out STV while the house will represent local part of the state the senate will represent the state as a whole. With no districts it's not possible to gerrymander and it's perfectly proportional.

First 4 spots on thier list. The percentage needed is actually slightly less due to the 81st seat but that seat does prevent a tie or the need for a tie breaker like the lieutenant governor. The Senate will be elected by the whole state and seats are strictly based on percentage not districts.

The Minnesota senate will be increased for 66 to 81 senators making the present a party needs per Senate seat approximately 1.25% of ther states Senate sized aborting to population. Parties will creat a list of Senate canidatse from 1 to 81. So if a party gets 5% of the votes they get the

It's almost like without multiple parties to actually compete for voters. The two party system isn't about policy but just cults of personality. Dems good and Gop bad and vice-versa. Data doesn't matter anymore to the public, just who was president, my guy, or yours. Just more proof we need reform.
