The only thing that determines a person’s value, as far as I’m concerned, is whether or not they’re actively hurting others. The unhoused folks who regularly ask you for money and are sometimes rude about it? Equally as deserving as the quiet neighbor who works full-time and keeps to themself.

I’ve witnessed people turn from caring, empathetic individuals, to casually talking about others in a way that demonstrated they’ve started buying into the hierarchical BS. I hear them repeat the right-wing dog whistles implying a person’s value is tied to their productivity.
