I would love if teachers could be freed up one or two days a year to visit schools that are doing things well. Have Centres of Excellence for various types of Special Schools where experience and learned-on-the-job knowledge can be shared and distributed. #EdChatie

worked to build a relationship with that child over the course of the following months. It worked fantastically well, took a lot of time but we are now sure that each child has that one adult they can turn to.

We did a nurture audit last year. Each staff member had to write down 3 children they felt they had a real connection with. Collated all the responses & realaised there were a number of children that had no real "person". Each member of Care Team took a child &

This is not something that,in my experience has worked at all TrionaAs a Special School who were part of the pilot SIM Model we got a visit from an SLT 8 times over 3 years,no OT.SLT was lovely girl but could only give us some instruction on Lámh &tips on Visuals&Talk Time.No child was given therapy

I think this is absolutely key Emma. Most parents who come into me at the beginning of their school journey are already worn out from looking for help. Really hearing them helps enormously. And offering hope that you can and will do your best for their child. #edchatie.
