With cinematic LED video screen & light stagecraft, pyrotechnics & a confetti eruption, and indefatigable running energy, Eilish turned a pleasant but anodyne suburban arena into everything from a pulsating nightclub to an acoustic coffeehouse to an intimate jazz bar in a tour de force of a concert.

Manchester, England’s Elbow returned to NYC for the first time since 2017 last night, supporting 2024 LP Audio Vertigo and subsequent AUDIO VERTIGO ECHO elbow EP5. Supplemented by a sumptuous string/brass/backing vocal section, the ensemble sustained a rare level of intensity during a 17-song set.

On a beautiful Labor Day evening at a sold-out MetLife Stadium I witnessed the culmination of the world domination mission that Manchester, England’s working class Britpop heroes (and hooligan magnets) have been pursuing since their instantly familiar Creation Records 1994 debut single “Supersonic."

Last night at Jones Beach Theater, the legendary British rock band The Who continued their North American farewell tour, playing to a packed crowd of obsessive Who fans who were treated to 21-song set drawn mostly from their monumental ‘70s concept LPs Who’s Next.
