Nothing suss
The duopoly just joined forces in the Senate to vote down an #AUKUS inquiry. Never mind the political, technical & management risks associated with the program, or the $365B price tag - the two major parties are happy sleepwalking with your national security and money. #auspol

Cull the Democratic Party. Systematically chip away all the weak, corporate centrists and corrupt, gutless elected officials who refuse to fight and instead suck at the teat of the oligarchy.

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.

We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?

TIL that when the Beatles first came to America there was still someone alive in the US who'd been born into slavery here

The fact that I'm only in my 40s and missed by only a decade or so being alive at the same time as a former American slave further brings home for me just how recent slavery was

I couldn’t even look. Douthat starts all his arguments with a false premise, so it just gets stupider.

I hit the glass ceiling over and over working Wall Street in the 80’s and 90’s. I believe women make everything kinder, more rational, and better.

This is absolutely the most obvious thing to do. The govt should be shoveling all the funding it can at getting all the researches in the US who have been cut by Trump.

The entire right-wing propaganda machine came after Zohran Mamdani.

The president and his allies came after him.

Democratic leaders, by and large, did not have his back until the last minute.

He still won, turning out historic numbers and inspiring young voters.

His politics can win anywhere.

Gen Z women aren't playing around.

I was laid off from Teen Vogue this week, alongside multiple other phenomenal team members.

At our Summit, I was asked how it felt to be 1 of 2 Black women left and what that meant for representation. Now, there are no Black women at Teen Vogue and that is incredibly painful to think about.
