It’s actually a pretty important part of the story, because it shows Derek’s and Gogo’s different takes on what’s moral and what’s not. Which will be crucial later. :3

Somehow I like the in-between mess of my comic pages during work. Feels so productive to see this mixture of sketches and 3D props slowly coming together as something… solid? :D
Also, I found out recently that sketching with two (or more) colors enhances the fun! Stimulates my brain. 🤣

This sketch from black & blue vol. 07, scene 13 (page 086) shows a funny exchange between Derek and Gogo. Derek is sitting on the couch, animatedly pointing and shouting that low blood sugar is impossible — after all, he ate an entire pack of chocolate candies! A small sketch above shows him on the floor eating like an animal, complete with “nom nom” sounds. Gogo, standing nearby, puzzled by Derek’s words. Derek adds that those candies are full of sugar. In the next panel, Gogo asks, if he ate anything else but that. Derek says “nah.”, insisting that chocolate candies have a quadrillion calories and that his “sexy hip bones have to stay visible!” The whole scene is lighthearted, with Derek’s dramatic energy contrasting Gogo’s deadpan calm.
