I would say the only real checks and balances we even have at this point are the lower courts ruling against him, but even then the wins are either few, or they are swiftly overturned by a Trump loyal appeals court or SCOTUS. And SCOTUS’ shadow docket rulings don’t even require a legal explanation.

Exactly. Getting away after 2 impeachments and SCOTUS telling him he had immunity for “official acts” has given him carte blanche to test just how far he can go with defying the law to get whatever he pleases. If we ever get out of this mess, I truly hope more guardrails are installed.

It’s astonishing that he has done more damage in just the first year of his second term than the entirety of his first term. It’s almost as if that’s what happens when our Government willingly awards an insurrectionist the opportunity to become president again with zero accountability.

The GOP really tried to persecute anybody saying anything about Kirk. And yet when a bunch of Republicans were caught saying racist and anti-Semitic comments, the GOP just shrugged it off as “boys will be boys”. Mind you, they also tried to go after pro-Palestine protesters for “being anti-Semitic”

I remember hearing years ago that Disney had been developing a potential stage version, but heard a rumor it was put on hold in favor of a Princess Bride stage musical instead. Oh well, maybe someday!
