What would make even more sense is to get our country producing energy and making money. Provide clean energy to other countries and profit from it, get out of debt, fund renewable research, education, and medicine; become a country that is debt free and superior intellectually.

It doesn’t help enough to make any sense. Individual payouts such as these are absolutely stupid. Using that money as a whole elsewhere would make more sense. Best would be just to not spend what we don’t have.
