Hi Alistar and Rory.... Why do countries have to respond to the tariffs? Why don't they simply raise prices to accomodate the tariffs and watch American importers/consumers try swallow them? Surely that damages Trump/the tariff policy immediately? Why do they feel the need to reciprocate?

1) Post Covid inflation / prices which has toppled just about every incumbent in democracies worldwide

2) Media/GOP/External influencers somehow legitimising Trump and normalising disinformation to an ill-informed audience

3) Poor democratic leadership planning
