It's a commitment... I watched it with my niece over 3 years (rewatch for me, first time for her) and am doing the same amen with my youngest niece now ... It's worth the commitment...

Season 1 is short too so that helps ... It really gets going Season 2 ... I'd skip Ted though, I really hate that episode and you won't miss anything skipping it
