Yeah my uncle kenny had mad sailors tattoos.. dancing girls on his arm and chest that he used to make wiggle at parties.. as well as singing a very blue version of alouette. He had eyes tattooed on his arse cheeks too.. all his nephews were called noscar or benbo..

One of those happy accidents that leads to whole new body of work!

Charles Marowitz did this with Shakespeare; playing scenes in different order etc.. people have been playing around with Shakespeare ever since. It can work but generally speaking they’re rarely as edifying as seeing the plays as they were written.

Or a football team.

This is not a confession. Unless you’re a total homophobe!

It’s worse than that Mark. This time you’re not a member of a mystic cult with cool powers. Or maybe…..

Yeah my main prob with her was that bloody awful cover.

The original Guilty Pleasures night is what kicked all this off. There was an irony to it that’s been lost over time. Now it just means things you like that you feel shouldn’t cos it’s not considered cool. I don’t think the guys that started it were taking the piss, I think they loved this stuff.

I’d go with A. Britain, France, Northern Spain, a bit of Scandinavia and I think the Alsace bit of Germany..

Good piece. Never could stand the bastards myself. They were a pair of Burnage bullies when they used to frequent the Elizabethan in Heaton Moor before they made it and they still are. The most depressing thing about them is after all the success and world travel they haven’t changed at all!

My name for Farage is Toad of Spode Hall..

Bloody ‘ell. I saw this and thought he’d popped his clogs! Turns out he’s just retired from in our time.. I was gutted there for a couple of minutes..

Or was that not the whole point of Madonna as a significant pop star.
August 29, 2025 at 11:01 PM
You clearly make a distinction between Madonna playing with this imagery in the 80’s and Sabrina Carpenter playing with similar imagery today. The controversy around the sleeve art is depressing. Surely we should have moved on from tut tutting at young female artists for their choices as artists.

I don’t think she gives a shit what you think mate and nor should she. I’m no fan, but given the main theme of the album is why so many men treat their partners like dogs the cover art seems pretty perfect. She has agency she using it how she likes. Like so many men before her..

Thanks for leaving those records behind mate. A bit of Village Green was just what I needed considering I’d brought Pere Ubu along.. 😂
