Puberty blockers are medically reversible. The moment you stop taking them puberty hormones kick back in. There is no such thing as sterilization from them nor hormone use. In fact, though you’re obvs not into facts, studies show that trans men utilizing testosterone do not lose their fertility.

Exactly and depending on where you are from the wait times for just puberty blockers can be long and requires layers of appointments. Sick Kids requires multiple apps and the completion of a webinar on puberty blockers before you can access a prescription.

It’s horrific bc if you witness your child shaking uncontrollably & being depressed for months at the age of 11 bc of the effects of menstruation during a time of questioning you’d do anything to help them. My kid was literally saved by this medical intervention.

THANK YOU!!!!!! Puberty blockers actually do what Smith claims they r intending to prioritize. It’s a reversible option that lessens trauma & gives youth space to make decisions before they enter into the non-reversible options. It actually leads to lower regret rates.

Oh yes I have followed it very closely even though I don’t live in Alberta. I am horrified for families in Alberta, it’s devastating.

They can take them at 16 and try that for a few yrs before hormone but the issue is that many experiences deep trauma and depression in those earlier middle school yrs so taking away their access to a tx that is 💯 reversible with no side effects to fertility is fucking evil.
