The unions should stop funding the government and instead put together a fighting fund so that all immigrant workers, first second or third generation, can take a week out on general strike.
Let's see where this bloody country is then.

The trades unions should cut off funding today.

Anybody who represents the "I'm alright Jack" brigade, while pulling up the drawbridge that they used, has no place in politics. Politicians are there to represent everybody, whoever voted for them.

Whatever these people might like to believe, governments are very rarely elected on a 'mandate' - ironically, Johnson might be the recent exception. They are generally elected because they are seen, on one very specific Thursday morning, as the least worst of a bad choice. Thanks FPTP.

Pressure also needs to be kept on this Labour government, whose lunatic parroting of all these far right talking points, and threats to impose draconian rules on migrants have been living here for years, is frankly terrifying.

Who leaves everything they have behind, often including family, and travels across the world, often in great danger? Answer, those who are desperate and in greater danger at home. What kind of monster do you have to be to turn your back on that? Answer, a British politician or Reform voter.
