She was preaching her (Christian!) faith. If that’s causing division, it’s not on her.

This would be fragile masculinity, which is different from regular masculinity, which is ALSO DIFFERENT from toxic masculinity.

Church is boring… tell me you never go to church without telling me you never go to church.

I think it would be very interesting! I haven’t read the books, but in the TV version of Interview with the Vampire the main character is Black, as is the young female vampire. Some race issues explored as it’s in Louisiana. Juxtaposition of his supernatural power vs powerless in the Deep South.

IMO, the core aspects of vampirism are being undead, drinking blood, and passing as human. Sun thing more minor. But I think it could be very interesting to explore skin color and vampirism, since vampires have historically been a symbol of the “other”, and POC also persecuted for their otherness.

I love vampires & vampire lore! In original Dracula he could walk in the sun. In True Blood they had UV filtering windows. In Twilight they sparkle. In A Discovery of Witches the sun is a non issue. Slavic folklore vampires were white/pale, but I don’t think skin color changes in modern variations.

He was their tough guy after the assassination attempt, but he’s too frail for freezing temps?
