Take an internet strangers opinion with a grain of salt but honestly, I say just go for it (ie. Talking to her about it.) in a respectful, low key manner. From what you’ve posted she seems like the type who would take that well even if it was a no!

My dnd Dragonborn Arcrath, as a former Drow slave, is understandably a little anti Drow. Not even to the degree that he’d attack one on sight or label them all evil, my group still constantly jokes that he’s problematic lol.
