It could be. But shaming hasn't worked either. I have personal experience with how disconnected I got from people for trying to shame them into seeing my POV. It doesn't mean you don't fight politically but that's different than how you handle neighbors.

Because we shamed them for 8 years and that has only hardened their stance to not give them the space and grace to be wrong.
