Met a beautiful #greenman type #fairy at the #Urkult #folkfestival in Sweden a couple of weeks ago!

Taking a brief break from horror to embrace a little fantasy. Been meaning to read @joannechocolat.bsky.social's The Moonlight Market for a while now. Tonight's the night!

New books are always exciting. I got a new edition for my budding collection of the British Library's Tales of the Weird and a mystery read from the Imagined Things Bookshop in Harrogate, which promised me folk horror!
A book called The Haunted Trail: Classic Tales of the Rambling Weird from the British Library's Tales of the weird collection. The cover is black with a spectral yellow design showing a winding roas leading into the heart of a grove of oddly twisted trees atop a hill. A book covered in plain, pale blue paper to hide its cover. A piece of coloured string holds a red label saying "Unseen Reads: Two sisters flee to a Scottish island to avoid the law. A tale of family and feminine rage. Folk horror leanings reminiscent of Midsommar and The Wicker Man." Underneath the blue paper, the mystery unseen read is now revealed. It is a book called Small Fires. The cover is off white with a large red title. There are greyscale pictures to the sides: a human hand, a vial, a pomegranate, twigs and a flower.

Two graves in Heptonstall: David Hartley of the Cragg Vale Coiners and Sylvia Plath.
