My secret toast tech is to put two halves right next to each other in the toaster when making sandwiches, and then putting the untoasted sides on the outside. This way, you have the toasty flavor without the roof-of-mouth chafing.

Incidentally, I had decent success in the past with filling empty BIC ballpoint pens with printmakers ink (the one you use for etchings). At the time, i really only did it because I wanted earthy tones you couldn't get in ballpoint pens, but they would've also been morre lightfast than regular ink.

Indeed, but you need to actively look for it. Most fountain pen inks you can easily buy are dye based.

The same is true for all dye based mediums, which include ballpoint pens, fountain pens, fine liners and so on.

If you want long term stability, you need to use pigment based colors (and even those have different light stabilities).

Protoelectric sirenheads. Love it.

In traditional painting, there is Sfumato, which means painting intentionally blurry to enhance realism (your brain basically "fills in the blank", that's how it works)

I believe there is something similar in drawing, but it's more abstract.

How about weird puppets?

James Turrell, Rhoden Crater

Michael Heitzers work as well.

I have a theory; that the forums of yore were in part successful because they were a means to digitize information that wasn't digital yet. I spent quite some time in the early 00s in blacksmithing forums and at some point, most answers to questions became "use the search function". That was the end

Me, seeing this

Kinda random, but the other day, I wondered why it was pride flags, rather than pride heraldry.

Also because I kinda wanna see what that would look like.

This is especially funny because the companies involved are doing their hardest to create digital scarcity.

DRM, expiring ebooks, exclusive skins, NFTs...

Do these people think the ones running gpu farms will let you use them for free forever?

I'm personally a big fan of the Tombow Mono100. They feel sooo smooth.

If they only got rid of that pointless plastic cap at the end...

Imagine Trump dying and him becoming president
March 28, 2025 at 7:17 PM
... but in the end, I'm not sure whether you could actually do anything useful with it. I thought maybe it could be a way to stem the imminent tide of AI based visual misinformation, but it doesn't work that way.

I spent way too much time thinking about all of this, all of it pointless

That was kind of the one thing I thought this whole blockchain idea might've been somewhat useful for; proof of existence.(i.e. that a digital object did exist at a certain point in time in a certain state and that you are the uploader). A delegate approach would suffice, no bs token needed...

I'm not familiar with pikmin lote, but at least the last one gotta count as cannibalism

Animation, but every pilgrim's story has a different style.

I can emphasize with that. There's a version of an Arc'teryx messenger bag that is exclusively sold to army/law enforcement, and a few months ago, one popped up in the local craigslist equivalent for a ridiculous price and I couldn't help but stare at that thing until someone finally bought it.

I wonder if the ice cubes are also made with the blue bottle sparkly water.
March 22, 2025 at 9:14 PM
This absolutely rocks.

Also, I can't praise MtGs current art direction enough.
March 22, 2025 at 9:11 PM
The thing with a lot of the messenger bags that popped off during the craze, they were all ridiculously heavy, including chrome. Two layer nylon and tarpaulin, a seatbelt buckle, you carry so much stuff even if the bag is basically empty.
March 22, 2025 at 9:06 PM
...used a messenger bag for years, they fuck up your back over time. The small ones are fine, but if you get a big one, thinking "it's hustlike a backpack, I can buy groceries with it" - don't.
