Electric fencing would def stop them tho for sure, like one or two nibbles and they might never actually try again

goats would be able to tear through that pretty easily.
Chicken wire or plastic fencing would definitely just be temporary solutions that would just buy time.

I would not recommend chicken wire because it’s super pliable due to being so thin. Like raccoons can stretch/bend it to make space to squeeze through it so I’d imagine a goat could manage to rip it apart if it tried.
You could try temporary plastic fencing as an immediate solution but I’d imagine

Yeah absolutely!!!
Hoping those solutions work because the only other option is reinforcing the fence with like chain link or something and that can be hella expensive (currently I’m doing this because my dogs keep breaking through the wood fence we have)

Also I’m pretty sure there are some plants with strong scents that goats avoid like lavender and sage, idk if it would deter them from coming though a hole in a fence though but could be something else to try as well!!

just make sure to reapply it regularly, goats are stubborn af and will probably return to eating the fence when the cayenne or peppermint oil wear off.

I’d recommend using ground up Cayenne pepper or peppermint oil around the fence. I know a few people who have goats and they all swear it keeps them from chewing on/eating things and if you put it in doorways keeps goats from going inside.
