I think the left, is far too distracted with identities, labeling, purity testing, and finger pointing. Materially, the reason reformism doesn’t work has nothing to do with individuals; it has to do with the structure that makes it impossible without revolution.

I completely reject the idea that somehow Zohran won the interaction; he had no control. This is what Trump does; invites people in and lets them know they don’t have power.

This is the limit of the ‘smile at everyone, positivity all the time’ politics which helped Zohran win. Facing a literal fascist, he doesn’t resist or stand on what he said, he just takes it and gives a non-answer.

You can’t reform your way to real change, you need to fight.
