If the Democrats don't blink this is a no win for Republicans. They either use the nuclear option and prove they could have ended this at any time or they take responsibility for keeping the government shut down, since Trump has now screamed that they can and should end it.

I've begun to wonder if perhaps the symptom of higher education refusing to open up pathways for the young to step up isn't a reflection of larger societal trend. Feels like many of our institutions simply have no desire to aid the young as they once did
