And if Bama wins the SEC and jumps ND, it'll be "Oh man, if only there were one more week, maybe Miami could have jumped ND then."

They decided weeks ago Notre Dame was going to get in at Miami's expense if it came to them two over the last spot.

Miami & Notre Dame, collectively

There are plenty of scenarios that could play out where I would accept Miami doesn’t have a plausible argument. BYU beats TT in the B12 title game, for one. But if there’s one spot left and ND gets in over Miami, that’s the committee getting it wrong given what we saw them do on the field.

The first time QB was your best player that day and you needed 2 defensive coverage busts that game to make it close. The score was what it was, but through 3 quarters of that game, nobody could watch that game again and think the two teams were the same, which brings us back to H2H should matter.

Notre Dame’s wins are against 3 teams who are winless in their conference, a team who started a lacrosse player at QB, 2 G5 teams, and Pitt who’s coach said that game didn’t matter. Sure, if you think that’s playoff worthy, go for it.

I mean, I’m telling you why Bama isn’t ahead of Georgia and you’re not reading it. Bama has 2 losses, Georgia has 1. That’s the end of that discussion. They aren’t comparable so H2H doesn’t matter there. Tying that to Miami & Notre Dame is trying to make an apple an orange. They’re not the same.

Your point is based on illogical reasoning. Georgia has 1 loss to Alabama, but Bama has 2 losses, one to Florida State. They aren’t currently comparable so it absolutely makes sense UGA is ahead of Bama.

They’re close to each other in both SOS & SOR and that gap will further decrease after this weekend’s games. Miami’s losses are to a team who is ranked now and the other who didn’t have its 2 best offensive players for 2 of their losses. There’s no logical explanation that invalidates H2H.

I don’t understand the argument these people are making. There’s no group of metrics you could look at that tells you ND is on a different level than Miami, so H2H should be a differentiator. We aren’t talking about Miami having a win over Ohio State here.

Some might say wanting to better a 22-point victory over Pitt might be a motivator here.

Especially when you consider Louisville's best players weren't available during 2 of their losses

Will someone show Dawson his playtape from that home Texas A&M game where he said "Going conservative gets you beat", only time will tell.

Is BYU being coached by Pat Narduzzi today?
