It's one of my favorites! Essentially, due to a decades long drought, water consumption is severely limited by the Mega Corps, and the citizens have to pay to pee. And no, they can't just go outside, they'll get arrested. It opened on Broadway in 2001. Very funny, but also BLEAK.

that said I want to see the Ballroom version of Cats that's coming to Broadway because if it's done well, I think it could change people's minds about that show.

I remember having a friend who loved plays but hated musicals until she saw Urinetown. I would add Hadestown, Light in the Piazza, and Come From Away to your list!
