Canada exports 33 Terawatt hours and accounts for 90% of US electricity imports. Lastly, the Natural Gas imports from Canada make up 99% of all imported Natural Gas. We don’t even have to cut it off to make them hurt. We just need to raise the price and let the Trump tariffs do the rest.

We need to hit America hard, harder than they have ever been hit before, so they understand what is really at stake here. Canada provides over 60% of the United States' oil.

What now? Trade War. But should we really be ready to steam forward on tariff for tariff retaliation? We did it before with targeted tariffs to hurt key Republican areas. This time, we need to be more strategic.

This is why we move products from Canada to the US to Mexico back and forth before the final product is made. We are one economy. The United States uses Canada for resources and Mexico for cheap labour and gets to slap a Made in the USA sticker on it when it is all assembled at home.

First, the Free Trade Agreement, then NAFTA made it so we would manufacture parts and products in the most cost-effective way possible while creating the largest trading block in the world. This was long before the European Union. This is why car parts are made in Canada and Mexico for US cars.

when Ronald Reagan and Brian Mulroney brought the Free Trade Agreement to reality in 1988. In 1992, when Bush Sr. and Mulroney, along with Mexico, signed the first NAFTA agreement, the North American Economy became integrated like no other economy in the world.

Trump plans on trying to force Canada into capitulation by trying to destroy our economy.
What Trump fails to understand or refuses to understand is that the economies of Canada and the United States became more and more interconnected

Trump has repeatedly claimed that Canada should become a state. When asked if he would use military force in a press conference after being elected, he clearly said, “No – economic force.”

Canada has just over 40 million people compared to the United States’ 335 million people. We simply cannot consume as much as the United States. Trump has repeatedly claimed that Canada should become a state.

This is about what Trump sees as unfair treatment to the United States by Canada because we export more than we import. Trump sees trade deficits as the US subsidizing those who they buy more from than sell to. Canada will never buy as much as the US does.

Why is BluSky limiting posts???? F**kYou.

There are some out there who claim that if the government had just capitulated to Donald Trump, then none of this would have happened. I have news for you: this was going to happen no matter what Canada does or doesn’t do with its border. This is about bringing Canada to its knees economically.

With the already existing 14.5% in existing softwood tariffs, add another 25%, and our mills are looking at a 39.5% tariff from the United States. BC will be hit hard in the coming days, and it won’t just be lumber. The US makes up 54% of our province's exports.
February 1, 2025 at 7:26 PM
Tomorrow is D-Day for the Canadian Economy. Tomorrow, 25% tariffs will hit us on top of already existing tariffs. For BC, this means that tomorrow, our Forest Industry will take yet another hit from our so-called friends to the south.
