A post-script to this story: The Financial Times reports EU staff are being issued with burner phones on trips to the US. FT reports main concern is spying but "There is an additional risk with the US, where border staff have the right to seize visitors’ phones & computers & check their content."

And here's a story I wrote 10 years ago when Li "Superman" Ka-shing also faced criticism from Chinese Communist Party leaders. Back then it was because he sold off some assets in China. apnews.com/general-news...
