One of my least favorite trends that’s likely the result of an algorithm is all the Pokemon Youtube videos labelled “can i beat [x] using only [y]?”
The answer is, if its vanilla game content, more than likely!

Trying to start my next hunt in my Omega Ruby shiny badge challenge (Mawile), but realizing that encounter rate in Granite Cave is... interesting.
Which is to say: running around on my bike, I'm lucky to get one encounter in five minutes.

And shiny Zigzagoon in Omega Ruby after 6725 horde encounters and 20 DexNav encounters! Can finally get my next badge after nearly FOUR MONTHS of hunting! (Admittedly with a bit of a break there for bg3–)
I was lucky enough to get it on a fifth encounter so I dont even have to worry abt leveling :)

I don't think I've shared my shiny bingo here yet so. Here it is!
I REALLY got into shiny hunting over the past year or so and saw a couple of bingo cards in the tags over on the other site, so decided to do a card for 2023. I made it fairly balanced between methods. That was a mistake.

I've been playing the Teal Mask DLC for less than two hours and I've found two shinies while running around and ignoring story to explore and fill out my dex.
BEST PART? IT WAS THE TWO POKEMON I WAS LIKE "Oh those would be nice to hunt in the DLC theres not a good hunt for them in a modern game"

Now that I’m trying to reduce/eliminate my time in The Other Place, its time for my stream of consciousness thoughts to end up over here.
Like, for example: i was just looking back at some random dream-inspired worldbuilding and got the itch to design a character for the world again.

The baby goldfinches grow up so fast! We are absolutely inundated with them since it's their season; goldfinches breed super late to coincide with the bloom of super fatty seeds like thistle. We get babies sometimes into November! 🪶
