I was taught that Churches exert enough influence in politics these days via their membership.
Taxing them would ACTUALLY GIVE THEM A SEAT AT THE TABLE, not just a figurative one.
Do you really want them to exert that much DIRECT CIVIC POWER over where tax money goes?
