45 years ago, Kate Bush released her 3rd album 𝐍𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫. A record that cleverly combines baroque pop, progressive pop and art rock in unique fashion. It became the first album by a female artist to reach #1 in the UK. And this was the start of Kate's role as a producer.

30yrs ago today, Björk released her iconic 2nd album 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭. A genrebending record that showcases Björk's originality & versatility as a sonic explorer with the ambitious, bold production and electic arrangements. It remains one of the defining albums of the 90s.

36yrs ago today, The Cure released their seminal album 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. An album that draws on goth rock, alternative, dark wave & dream pop while being very distinct. Robert Smith's emotive, poignant songwriting & the moody soundscapes is what anchors this record and makes it a universal classic.

17 years ago today, Portishead released their last album 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐝. An album which masterfully blends krautrock, post-industrial,electronic & experimental rock to still sound ahead of its time. With its dissonant,challenging soundscapes this is my favorite Portishead record.
