Rescuers have saved a worker who became trapped when the medieval tower he was helping renovate in Rome partly collapsed.

Part of the Torre dei Conti collapsed just after 11:30am yesterday, sending rubble into the street and a thick white cloud of dust into the air.

Jon Bon Jovi has paid tribute to Thin Lizzy, saying the band “made storytelling fun” – and revealed that he stopped by the Phil Lynott statue while in Dublin.

The Bon Jovi frontman will appear on RTÉ’s The Late Late Show tomorrow night, ahead of the band’s return to Croke Park next year.
