COYS, Boomer Sooner, How 'Bout Them Cowboys, Thunder Up
To be fair, as we know from his magnet board, he thinks the red dots are good.

100% I especially don't get the line that our squad isn't as good as what Frank had at Brentford.

One need only look at Frank's Brentford record against a worse off version of this squad the past two seasons

Well, there goes my "At least we're more defensively sound" line.

So, we're starting over from scratch shoring up safety ball so we don't repeat those mistakes. That's the fix to the problem he saw.

Momentum is a risk. Identity can be wrong.
Going for Glory can fail.

If we always aim for the middle, even if we miss it, there will always be an echo of mediocrity.

Unfortunately, those include some of our best recent memories. Those include the belief and expectation that we are the trophy winning club we should be.

The EL trophy can't be divided from the 17th finish, nor vice versa.

You can't throw it all out and build on it at the same time.

It's clear that Frank, probably at the direction of club leadership sees this as needs fixing situation, not a needs healthy players and maybe some tactical tweaks situation.

So, much to some of our consternation, he's trying to strip away everything from those two seasons.
December 16, 2025 at 11:11 PM
Some looked at the last two seasons and saw a problem that needed to be fixed.

"We finished 17th" "Suicidal High Line" "Only Plan A and Plan A harder"

Others looked at those seasons and focused on the fact that despite a ton of injuries, we won a 🏆, were competitive in other cups, and "Could We?"
December 16, 2025 at 11:11 PM
I think that this is the skeleton key to understanding where we are now.

I've been reluctant to re-litigate last season because it is the past, but it seems like now is the time to put this in context.
December 16, 2025 at 11:11 PM
I always wondered why we were always on!

One massive difference is that big silver thing cropped out of the picture on the right. 🏆

I know that every manager is a hired gun and only here for the check and CV building, but that only means that it is all the more important that they do not talk down the club, their predecessor, the fans, or the players while they are here.
December 15, 2025 at 8:16 PM
Love for Spurs (or at least respect for Spurs) is high up on my list of requirements for a new manager.

It's the thing I appreciated most about Ange and it's the thing that is quickly souring me on Frank.
December 15, 2025 at 8:16 PM
To be entirely fair to Frank, I also didn't believe that a team coached by Frank could score goals and win that match.
December 15, 2025 at 4:13 PM
So what you're saying is we need to, have to, give Nuno another shot?

Surely, with an unbreakable lifetime contract he would eventually make us proud.
December 15, 2025 at 2:46 PM
That sounds like a lot of sense, but after today's match, I'm solidly on my nonsense.

Check back later for sense.
December 15, 2025 at 2:38 AM
If this is you throwing your hat in the ring to replace Frank, you have my support.

To be fair, I was 25% convinced that bringing back Ryan Mason until I found some grass to touch.
December 15, 2025 at 2:00 AM
Stability in the long, short, or medium term hasn't really been a feature for Spurs or Spurs supporters since the days of Bill Nicholson
December 15, 2025 at 1:53 AM
If we stick with Frank in January, he'll ask us to go and get 2 or 3 more defenders. There's still too much attack on the pitch for his comfort apparently.
December 14, 2025 at 5:36 PM
We gave up 3 to Sean Dyche's Forest! That is not an upgrade!
December 14, 2025 at 5:27 PM
When Plan A doesn't work, Plan A harder.
December 14, 2025 at 5:18 PM
I really wanted Frank to win because I am a Tottenham supporter. After what we've seen, I just don't have faith that his way is the way back to glory.
December 14, 2025 at 5:08 PM
In an ideal world, we wouldn't sack managers as often as we have in the past. We would look to build strong identity and foundations and get better year over year.

Frank has not shown anything scalable. Sticking with the wrong guy for the sake of sticking with a guy will also not magically fix us.
December 14, 2025 at 5:08 PM
Every match is not a referendum. A manager will not magically fix every problem we have as a club.

BUT

When looking at the body of work, this manager's ideas and tactics (his supposed strong suits) are not working.
December 14, 2025 at 5:08 PM
He needs to change his game and only pass the ball backwards, out of bounds, or to the opposition.

Then he'll fit in with this system.
