Reason number one million to support your local library?

Cool exhibits like this Walk Through the Solar System installation up for the day at my local public library! You know how much I love space so it was great to take a break from working to travel through space.

Thrilled to be working with @lanaishagemini.bsky.social on her YA thriller HOW TO BURY BITCHES BEFORE THE END OF THE WORLD!

A queer Black teen plots revenge on the girl who got away with murder—ten days before the world ends.

Editors, GET READY! Very excited for this one!

This past Sunday I was a speaker at the LA County Library Next Chapter Writers Summit and it was such a well-run event.

In addition to speaking on a panel, I spent the afternoon in one-on-ones with writers and they were all so prepared and talented.

In fact, I just offered rep to one today!

My amazing illustrator client @sonyaafnan.bsky.social just sent me this piece she drew of me as an astronaut. I’m obsessed! I’ve fully embraced my inner space nerd. Still manifesting representing an astronaut’s book someday!

If you aren’t following Sonya, start!

Things I never expected to get in my mailbox: A Happy Birthday note from an Apollo astronaut who walked on the moon.

Thank you, Charlie Duke!
October 7, 2025 at 5:16 PM
So no clue how this happened, but Apollo 16 Commander Charlie Duke sent me a copy of his book to my home address wishing me a Happy Birthday. As a huge NASA and Apollo nerd, this is very cool.

But also… HOW????

Happy 75th Anniversary to Charlie Brown! I spent the summer playing Linus at a local community theater and got back into reading old Peanuts comics. They've brought so many smiles to my face.

Still looking for great space non-fiction for all ages, but particularly middle grade. NASA history is one of my adult obsessions and with Artemis launching next year, I want to inspire the next gen of astronauts and flight controllers. #mswl

I’ve spent the last five days celebrating turning 40 by indulging in my nerdy obsessions and the final cherry on top was seeing this launch. Welcome to 40. Bring it on!

I am so excited to finally be able to talk about ASTRA FOX AND THE WONDERWORKERS REBELLION by Isaac Fitzsimons. I am obsessed with the magical world Isaac created and definitely told all editors to listen to Newsies while reading this one.

Thrilled for the world to have another book by Isaac.

A very happy birthday to my amazing husband @themattlondon.bsky.social. He’s a super dad and keeps me laughing every day. My best friend and biggest fan forever.

I love you, Matt! When did we get so old?

The book has so many fantastic tidbits about the movies and I particularly loved that Kevin Williamson was partially inspired by INTO THE WOODS when drafting the SCREAM screenplay.
September 9, 2025 at 4:31 PM
I cannot scream loud enough about how much I loved @ashleycullins.bsky.social’s YOUR FAVORITE SCARY MOVIE. The SCREAM series was formative for me and this book is a love letter to the series. If you love SCREAM, Wes Craven, and horror film in general, this is a must read.

OK, PRH editors. Which one of you is handling the Andrew Lloyd Webber books??? I was texted by at least one client as soon as this news broke today and I'm telling you I have multiple clients who would KILL to write ALW adaptations.

Spending my spare time playing Linus in a community theatre production of YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN. It's a joy.

Hobbies are important, y'all.

I also immediately ordered a copy of @grubreport.bsky.social's THE END OF SOMETHING WONDERFUL for the daycare owner and the kids. Such an underrated book on pet loss for kids.

I think it's going out of print, but you can still get copies from B&N online and Amazon. A must-have.

Last we got the news that Mango, the beloved chicken at my daughter’s daycare, had passed away. Both of my girls went through that daycare with Mango and that chicken was practically my youngest’s best friend. She was the closest thing we had to a pet so I’m heartbroken. RIP Mango. 🥭

OMG!!!!! @dirtbagqueer.rocks's ONE OF THE BOYS is an Indie Bestseller!!!!!!

Huge congrats to Victoria and her fearless team at @levinequerido.bsky.social for bringing this story into the world and coordinating a brilliant campaign to get this book into the hands of queer kids across the USA!

What fantastic pub day news for @dirtbagqueer.rocks and ONE OF THE BOYS! A THIRD starred review that is EXTREMELY quotable:

"A standout work of YA fiction, as inspiring and illuminating as it is funny and relatable."

Via @nytimes.com: “Astronomers Detect a Possible Signature of Life on a Distant Planet”

This is amazing astronomy news! But will we be able to continue funding the necessary research to explore this potential sign of life? Not at the current rate of funding cuts…

I am over the moon to work with @sonyaafnan.bsky.social!!! Her illustrations are stunning. Her picture book writing is so heartfelt. And let me tell you, her chapter book made me laugh out loud on an airplane. I am just obsessed! I cannot wait to share her work with editors!
