Information at that time was difficult to get, and certainly long before social media could disseminate these reminders. Or email and text message systems were in place to get updates from an embassy.

My dad is retiring in a few days. He was planning to do phased retirement, and it was verbally approved for months, but then the week it was to begin it was denied officially. He just decided to retire outright. It's going to be a mess for citizens, but I'm glad he's leaving too.

Everyone loves him and says his the “good billionaire”, but his company screwed me over as a contractor and didn’t pay my last two invoices. Check bounced. They knew they could outspend me/what was owed with legal bills easily. Fuck that guy. Still have an open collections on it 7 years later.
