I think a key reason that Apple didn’t announce hypertension earlier is because they didn’t have to. When they release things early, it gives competitive a chance to swoop in with some 60% solution and claim they got there first. @snell.zone sixcolors.com/post/2025/09...

I don’t buy the cynical take. The lawsuits & settlements were inevitable. It’s been clear since the Reddit deal that AI companies are going to need to spend millions/billions for content. The moat remains the billions in their war chests.

Trump is scum, but if Biden offered a $50B a year incentive (25% tax on iPhones) to build in America, a joint press conference and a thoughtful gift that Biden appreciated wouldn’t be so odd. This is blackmail, but pragmatically it’s the right move. @gruber.foo daringfireball.net/2025/08/gold...

I’m not convinced to epilogues add much to most stories. I always read them because I’m afraid I’m gonna miss something, but I often feel vaguely disappointed like I reached the end of the book and then burped and unpleasant taste after a good meal. #books #booklovers #romancebooks #writing

Dipping my toes into @blender.org again. Our city does crowdsource cinema where everyone gets a two minute snippet of a popular movie to redo and then they stitch it back together. This year is Matilda. Here are my initial character sketches in blender. I’m trying to figure out cloth and hair. #3d

It’s cool to hate apple. I think that’s it. I’m on other sites where if ANYTHING even slightly positive about apple is posted it gets downvoted to the trash bin. Linux and Android can add the most minor feature and get a million upvotes.
