Pluto's ads are a bit invasive even for a FAST service, but I find myself putting on one of their channels frequently.

Their 24/7 sports stuff, Three's Company, Twilight Zone, etc really makes it easy to just put on as background noise. I tend to use the Bob Ross channel to help me sleep. It rocks.

I think Tatis would be the litmus test of this since the discretion came at 22. If Nelson Cruz had a slightly better career, we’d see a case like this soon because people tend to have forgotten about it.

But I don’t understand how he’d get in (or Clase) but not folks who never failed a test.

I also don't think he's been as good since the failed test. He averaged 48 homers and a .965 OPS over a 162 for his first three years, failed the test, now over a 162 averages 30 homers and a .796.

Still a great player and still can find a next gear with how young he is but he's fallen a bit clean.

I just think that there's players whose heights he won't reach like Palmeiro who nobody even really talks about as a great now.

Why would Fernando break the mold? Sure, the voting body is going to be less aggressive over time, but that's a lot of leg work to be done here.

I love this column every year, Mike! I'm definitely of the big Hall mindset and not usually a 'no chance' kind of guy on active careers, but I have to disagree on Tatis.

It's not just controversy, it's the PEDs. If that mold doesn't break for Clemens, why would it for Fernando, who actually failed?

I don't know how much a second MVP clarifies it, though. I fully anticipate his case essentially being 'Ralph Kiner with more playing time,' depending on how healthy a guy his size and previous injury history can be.

That's an easy HoF, even if his counting stats aren't HoF excellent in the end.
