Jill Stein is a charlatan hack. When I became of voting age I was very interested in Green P and as soon as it became Stein’s party (as it did come my first Pres election) the platform changed. Pretty much spoiled me on third parties after she ran (on nothing!) 3/4 elections since.

While I agree it definitely exists in football, based on talk from the Colts’ locker room in the last year AR isn’t putting in enough effort; been confronted at least once. Jones is playing to save his career. It’s less about DJ than it is AR, their handpicked guy, just isn’t cutting it.

Regardless, do not fall for strongman tactics by Democrats that just want your vote for president some day. Red state redistricting has a fairly decent chance of spectacularly backfiring on them; the same is true in blue states.

It may be time to consider expanding the House (as much as it sickens me to think about having and paying more politicians) by adding 100 (or however many) seats. The country has grown in the last century; the people are less-well represented than they were after WW2.

Independent commissions should be the norm for the 50 states; those in power have proven that they cannot responsibly nor fairly decide who gets to be represented. Commission maps still have to go through channels to check them, as they should.

Remember come future primaries: any elected Dem calling for bypassing voter-approved independent commissions ought to be disqualified from holding public office. They are only concerned about their own power, no better than Republicans afraid of the MAGA machine.

In the name of leveling the playing field, some elected Democrats are calling to circumvent their own people and the institutions that they claim to uphold; they will not regain legitimacy from an electorate that demonstrably doesn’t like them.

Those in states that have successfully fought for independent redistricting commissions did it for a reason. We do not want either party making representation a corrupt game. Blue states calling tit for tat aren’t preserving democracy—they’re contributing to its backslide.

Almost every reliable stronghold (and even some swing states) for either party has some degree of ridiculous gerrymandering; it’s why they tend to be reliable for their respective parties. Representative district maps at times would have you believe there isn’t a democrat for miles.
August 9, 2025 at 9:16 PM
This is why no one takes Democrats seriously: they don’t have a leg to stand on regarding gerrymandering and the party establishment will go to great lengths to do anything but put forth an actionable agenda focused on progressive policies that have widespread support across the aisle.

Without a posted source that isn’t a blog I’ve never heard of, this is just misinformation.

I love American football; I’m also down with the idea of turning youth and varsity leagues into flag football and reserving tackle football for adults. It’s nice that the NFL has accepted and supports that may be the future but they could also stand to speak less passively on the matter.
