Since then, I’ve had the chance to help refine their pitch, talk strategy, and cheer them on.

Now, I get to collaborate with them directly and I couldn’t be more excited!

Because it’s bold, it’s weird, and it’s unforgettable.

Exactly the kind of indie game I love to support.

I first met Ashe & the team during the GamesGround pitching contest in Berlin.

I was sitting in the jury and got to judge... 😁

They came in *very* close to 1st place, and their pitch stuck with me.

🧵 I’m so excited to share this 👇

I’m teaming up with Bold Beetle Games on their upcoming Kickstarter: Dung Slinger. 🪲💩

Yes… it’s a physics-platformer about a dung beetle chained to a giant ball of poop.

Think Hollow Knight, but much weirder.

Three roles, three moods of the creative journey.
It’s funny how we all shift between these roles while building games (and life).

Which one feels like you today?

Getting caught in action snapping a selfie with Sam against the Cologne Dome backdrop. Let’s just say, the dome definitely stole the show.

I also had the privilege of sharing Gentleland’s vision with so many thoughtful minds.

Just returned from Cologne after attending Devcom & Gamescom 2025 and wrote a small recap!

Meeting passionate developers, publishers, new friends and reconnecting with old ones was like walking from one insightful conversation to the next.

A personal highlight?

While I was away one of my social media accounts made it silently to 16k!

Thank you all for the support!

I have not been posting much on X/Twitter, but there is still a large chunk of an audience that has never switched the platform to anywhere else.

We’re in an era where attention is the most valuable currency.

Whoever shouts the loudest or disrupts the most, often wins.

But there’s a shift happening, and game developers need to pay attention.

One of the biggest costs to any business is customer acquisition. 👇🧵

What's the last book you read?
Well thought-out content you watched?

If you constantly consume "fast food" content, don't be surprised when your mind ends up malnourished with surface-level knowledge.

Social media is great at making us feel like we’re learning, when we aren't.

"I hate social media!"
Most game devs do.
It feels fake and salesy.

The issue often lies in trying to pitch and sell your game idea to everyone.
It feels awkward for everyone involved.
Selling is not the same as marketing.

I feel when it comes to crafting visually captivating characters for your game, few resources are as insightful as Stan Lee's "How to Draw Superheroes".

If you are designing characters for your game, consider giving it a read and let me know how you liked it! :)

What happens when everyone wants to be a creator but no one wants to be the audience?

In this piece I am exploring the challenges for game devs in particular and how we may restore balance in a saturated creative ecosystem.

As a game and content creator, I often find myself asking:

What does the world need to feel right now?
A sense of hope?
Connection?
Challenge?

Games hold the power to answer these questions in ways no other medium can. I believe we need to start with our own truth.

My mission for 2025 is clear:
🌟 Build a haven where game developers can dream big, build their own studios, and create games that truly leave a mark.

And yes, I’ll be sneaking in some time for coding too 😋

What’s your mission for the year ahead?

At Gentleland, every day feels like stepping into a game development quest.

But instead of swords and spells, we’re armed with vision boards, design tools, and a deep love for games and the people who create them.

Here’s a peek behind the curtain:

Loss often comes as a sudden and shocking reminder of life's fragility and unpredictability.

6 months ago I experienced losing almost two members of my family - and tragically, one permanently - to a brain bleeding.

Both events happened just one day apart from each other.

Gamerrepublic was so kind to invite me to their new podcast!

I am talking about my own experience, how I joined the games industry and motivations.

The episode is in German!

"Let's just shadow launch our game..."
October 13, 2024 at 4:30 PM
I admit, I do this way too often.

But it just works.

Each time you think about who you are making your game for, you also think about their needs, wants and beliefs.

Whenever I am not sure what task to tackle next, I listen to some ludovico einaudi and the world is fine again.

It's just the type of music that gets your right back into a flow.

At least for me that hyper-focus is so important to get work done.

When you start your own game studio it's a lot of hard work & slow momentum.

But the good news is, there is a "tipping point".

That's when things become easier.
So don't give up.

What if I told you, that it's not just about the size of your audience, but the quality of your audience?

You can have 100k followers on any social media.

Launch your game and it's crickets.

The reason is that not every audience is created equal.
