I collect dead TCGs because it’s funny&cheap & holy moly OG MetaZoo’s set org. is /bonkers/. No organizational logic whatsoever when you sort by the default set number. Not grouped by type, by element, even the rarity is on shuffle, and no standard playset limit.

This game is chaos I love it 🥰

The autobattler project, is, I admit, a little dead in the water. Not that it’s not good, I think I have something, just the perpetual cycle of ADHD project abandonment striking again. Thankfully, it’s a side project and I can always come back to it.

This weekend we did a big update to the site for my main project, including overhauling some of the early lore from the original game. I don’t think I’d have predicted that I’d be writing political historical fiction as a kid

Okay update on the #Autobattler #TCG I did a few playtests and it suuuucked, it was tedious and the math was bad, so we pivot. It was a slots-ish like Luck Be A LL, but now things stay on board, leveling is optional, and the grid is 5x5 instead of 3x3, more strategy & counter play. More AutoChessy.

114 cards, 2 weeks from v.0 (this is v3 of autobat TCGs). Idk why I work this way but I love it. I swear I could make new TCGs every month and not burn out. Idk if they would be GOOD… but everyone’s got 100 bad games in them & I’m getting all mine out ASAP.

I just wish I could do this full time.

WELP we’re looking at a 360 card (40 page) print and play pack, not including the rulebook. This supports two players/decks with some wiggle room for strategy and variety in deck building, but is intended to be one person’s collection. Tomorrow: adjustments, symbols, and printing. Then: we playtest.

Finished my final B&W prototypes for my #TCG project, across all card types (not permanents, they are just spells without the reminder box) while waiting for #BL4 to download (hype). Designs are angular to convey motion and energy that should come through with gameplay too 🤞testing coming next week!

114/100 cards done and designed! Tomorrow, time willing, I’ll throw them into Dexterous and get my first #prototype P&P set generated! No art, no colour, just gotta see if it’s actually FUN. Designing on paper is great but now the hard part: putting it in motion!

Trickster’s Slots the un- #Autobattler #TCG is now at 38/100 cards ready to test, common to rare all ready, legendary and hero to do tomorrow. Plus some rules reviewing - despite having played several, I’m still not sure I’m designing a trick taking game or not?

Tried a blintz today at #Brunch, more sugar than I thought possible in a single plate. A crepe but with icing, because it simply must be sweeter.

And then the lady gave me guff for not putting syrup on it!

Okay so when I said I had a 1/3 of the cards done I realize I had a 1/3 of the cards *conceptualized*. I now have 20/100 cards ready to send from XL to card maker, all my common critters. Not my fastest #prototype but i did choose to make a full set instead of just starter decks for… some reason…

Got the initial rulebook for my trick-taking #autobattler #TCG #prototype as well as about a third of the cards designed for set1. It wears the LBAL and SAP inspo on the sleeve but it seems solid & competitive & scales for MP. 100 unique card, 320 / set. V pleased with it so far, hope it plays well!
