Maybe you would do something to stop the terrible language in the play in the Abbey by Brendan Behan. I was shocked and left after half time. It was positively a disgrace being full of vile language and blasphemy and the taking of the Holy Name. Five times during the first act the name – Jaysus; and everyone laughed. Then the following unmentionable words:- "Shite", "Horshit", "Feck", "Fuck", "Bastard" and many of these words were spoken to the priest in the play. This surely does not pass for literature. Is this Ireland's National Theatre, and built by the Ratepayers [sic] money? What would outsiders to our country think? I am a father, but I would be ashamed if I had brought any of the children to see that performance.
