There had been thought given to whether the second night should happen. It went ahead, with a police presence watching the queue file in, and lighting echoing the French tricolour. You can understand why cancellation was considered, but also: if ever there was a night you needed friends and music...

The second night hit different from the first; how could it not, as while the first gig had been happening, news of the terrorist attacks in Paris had been starting to come through. People like us, in a venue, watching a band. Not getting to go home.
