Today in 1990: EPMD released their third studio album, Business as Usual. Erick Sermon and Parrish Smith's first album for Russell Simmons and Rick Rubin's legendary Def Jam Records, the album also featured the debut of a then-unknown Redman. Singles included "Gold Digger" and "Rampage."

Today in 1977: Elvis Costello was banned from Saturday Night Live after cutting "Less Than Zero" short and replacing it with the scathing "Radio, Radio." Costello would return to SNL in 1999 to repeat the gag by interrupting the Beastie Boy's performance of "Sabotage," now with SNL's approval.
