Obliterated is an absurd word for what happened at the hearing. The United States still had custody and control over the airplane itself and individuals inside, even in international air. If OUR country’s judges don’t have jurisdiction over them, who does?

Ok, BUT they were removed to a third party country to be housed in a prison notorious for human rights abuses? What is the crime that justifies this imprisonment? This is so much more than a deportation.

It had three things: 1) stop gap 2) disaster relief 3) money for farmers. If this is what those 30+ republicans refused to agree to, what would they possibly be willing to agree with Democrats on?

To be fair, the Constitution is silent on whether the speaker can be a non-member of Congress. Would it be a terrible idea? Yes. Did the founders ever contemplate that the House would choose a non-member? Almost certainly not.
