Each Land Day, Palestinians come together to affirm their connection to their homeland. No amount of Israeli violence can sever it. On this day in 1976, Palestinians united in protest against Israel after it announced plans to steal thousands of acres of land from Palestinian citizens of Israel. Land Day marked the first major protest held by Palestinians across all of their historic homeland. Israel responded with brutal violence, curfews, and arrests, killing 6 Palestinians. In the 49 years since, Palestinians have continued to come together against Israel’s ongoing, violent land theft to prove that Israel can never divide the unified Palestinian spirit. Palestinians have been pushing for their freedom for decades – and they deserve it, like all of us. Beyond an immediate and permanent end to this genocide, Palestinians need the freedom and safety to live on their land in peace. They shouldn’t have to wait another day.

THREAD: A Timeline of Israel’s Ceasefire Violations Since January

Since the ceasefire came into effect on January 19th, Israel has violated the terms repeatedly and flagrantly to continue starving and killing Palestinians.

Here are just a few examples.
January 20 – One day after the ceasefire took effect, Israeli snipers kill 3 Palestinians, including 15-year-old Zakaria Barbakh, and shoot at Palestinians returning to their destroyed homes January 28 – Israel bombs a cart carrying displaced Palestinians, killing 2, including a 5-year-old girl February 10 – Israel blocks Palestinians, including a child cancer patient, from seeking medical treatment abroad, directly violating the ceasefire agreement February 16 – Israel bombs the city of Rafah, killing Palestinians distributing aid February 17 – Israel kills 100th Palestinian since the ceasefire took effect March 1 – Israel refuses to move forward with next phase of ceasefire agreement by removing its soldiers from Gaza March 2 – Israel resumes blocking all food, medicine, and lifesaving aid to Gaza, forcibly starving 2+ million Palestinians March 11 – Israel shuts off all electricity in Gaza, a major threat to Palestinian lives March 14 – Israel kills a Palestinian fisherman fishing for food, attacking his boat March 15 – Israel kills 9 Palestinians in one attack: 6 humanitarian aid workers and 3 journalists documenting the aid workers' life-saving efforts
