Not much, mostly lurking
The left drawing has far better line work, rendering and shading. But I like right Roxie's facial expression just a bit more.

I’d give it to left though.

Grab some lunch

That sounds neat

If that happens we might be having a different conversation, but you can’t just trust a demon on their words alone.

And like I said, I doubt most would even want to participate in that moral framework.

So might as well go demon slayer on them until murder stops being an appealing prospect for them

Demons in Frieren are very unique among other kinds of sapient life. Considering the majority of their evolutionary history consisted of eating ANOTHER SAPIENT SPECIES.

Maybe more of the lesser demons will follow the greater demon’s example when most of their kind is wiped out. +

Why would the average demon choose to participate in a moral framework they might not even agree with? Because humans aren’t worth the hassle?

Seeing as how many still try to kill people and how willing they are to lie, manipulate and mimic their prey, the risk still seems to be worth it. +
November 23, 2024 at 12:37 PM
How do you know those demons aren’t anomalies for the species?

If they ate people for the majority of their evolutionary history they’d still want to, even if they technically don’t need to. They’re predisposed to see people as food. +

They may have “free will” but circumstances can easily hamper it.
November 23, 2024 at 9:12 AM
I didn’t say that, I said they’d all WANT to eat human meat.

Demons likely developed a taste for it over the hundreds of millennia that they preyed on humans.

Due to their highly individualistic behavior I doubt a demon society could convince the vast majority to “go green” let alone a human one.
November 23, 2024 at 9:06 AM
It wouldn’t be “some of them” ALL of them would have the latent desire for human meat, those that wouldn’t would be an anomaly.

While I don’t think they’re “irredeemably evil” a sapient species built on the predation of another sapient species are doomed to be in conflict until only one remains.
November 22, 2024 at 10:28 PM
I’m willing to bet that the idea that “they literally can’t not kill people” is a bit of perspective bias.

but like I said they would want to kill people anyway, probably even more than the Americans and sugar comparison would imply.
November 22, 2024 at 9:21 PM
That’s expanded more in the manga right?

We might be having a different discussion about this when season 2 airs, but I can’t imagine it being much different than someone going on a low sugar or vegetarian diet.

I doubt it would appeal the majority of generally individualistic demons.
November 22, 2024 at 9:11 PM
Personally I wouldn’t call them “evil” the same way I wouldn’t call a mountain lion or even the titular antagonist of “THE THING” “evil” but I don’t blame Frieren's “shoot on sight” policy towards them in the slightest.

You can’t just trust any demon to have a conscience, even raised among us.
November 22, 2024 at 8:44 PM
But one of the reasons this behavior persists is an evolutionary holdover from when our ancestors lived in forests. (A large portion of their diet consisted of sugary fruits).

The vast majority of demon diet throughout the ages consists of the meat of OTHER SAPIENT SPECIES. +
November 22, 2024 at 8:44 PM
Maybe, but they would still want to.

The average American consumes orders of magnitudes more sugar than they need per day, often to their detriment, even if they know they shouldn’t.

There are many reasons for this (like how accessible sugar rich food are in a first world country) +
November 22, 2024 at 8:44 PM
Isn’t it obvious? They specifically evolved to kill and eat people. They don’t need to evolve complex social structures or even empathy to do that, especially with their advanced use of magic.
