Book 19 of 2025 Sharks in the Time of Saviors by Kawai Strong Washburn

This was a joy to read in so many ways. Even though two of the novels settings are cold as hell there's a fire that permeates through this novel. A great summer read, or great to bring summer to you

Book 18 of 2025 Western Lane by Chetna Maroo

In what is a very short novel Maroo gives the reader so much to chew and meditate on. If there was one facet I could appreciate now it's the delicate respect she has for the perspective of her young protagonist.

Book 17 of 2025 Between Two Fires by Christopher Buehlman

Fun horror and follows a great hero's journey. Just a solid novel altogether

Book 16 of 2025 Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison

What do you want me to say? It's probably the greatest novel of the 20th century.

I will say this novel, written by a woman, is easily the best reflection and microcosm of honest masculinity I've ever read.

Book 15 of 2025 The Mark by Frída Ísberg

Nice little psych/philo fiction novel. A lot of dialogue and ideas to chew on. Though the prose is more dry and brief, Ísberg does well to keep this story moving like a pinball game. Very good! All Tristan wanted was a Pepsi

Book 14 of 2025 Our Wives Under the Sea by Julia Armfield

YALLLLLLLL I swear you gotta read this before Markiplier unleashes Iron Lung onto the world. Also this is a sentimental masterpiece, read if you love gay shit like me.

I never did Book 12 of 2025 LOL
Survivor by Chuck Palahniuk

This book is staying in my head rent free. I guess it's supposed to be disturbing? This was nonstop laughs and the pacing is gas all the way. Chuck Palahniuk writes about little freak men and fun women.

Book 13 of 2025 The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

Yeah this hurt HAHA when I tell you I've never read watched known anything about this book. Many times it hit like a shotgun. Purest expression of what being seen means. Required reading. Stan Candace

Book 11 of 2025 Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut

Honestly hit less than Slapstick but still hilarious in many places. We're literally living a Vonnegut novel at the moment. I feel like Vonnegut is just a language you learn from reading more Vonnegut which isn't hard to do!

Book #10 of 2025 Lao Tzu - Tao Te Ching

I'll be honest y'all. I 5 star everything on goodreads for the meme of it but this is a slog. It's a good meditation on Temperance, absolutely. But bitch, there's like 21 other tarot cards to cover!

Book 9 of 2025 The Storm We Made by Vanessa Chan

This is easily one of the best written books I've ever read. It's brutal, it's characters are deep, it doesn't shy away from real tragedy, and it has the audacity to reference Jane Austen

Book 8 of 2025 The Magical Girl Retires by Park Seolyeon

Translated by Anton Hur, a true MVP

This was a wonderful bite sized novella to break the lit fic trend. Park's humor is wonderful but she tells a quick story that efficiently reflects on society

Translator notes were important
