In Chapter 6 of Beverly Hills Noir I recall a series of true crime stories I covered in the 90s & 2000s, linked by the theme of someone pretending to be something they weren’t. That felt a little like me in my early days reporting on Beverly Hills, agog at the mix of celebrities and the commonplace.

A little sampling of the Beverly Hills Noir audiobook, wirh a peek at Winona Ryder’s shoplifting saga…

The Beverly Hills Noir audiobook is now officially available on all major platforms! Now’s a perfect opportunity to luxuriate in Donald Corren’s velvety smooth narration of my collection of over-the-top true crime tales out of 90210, behind the wheel or at the end of a murderously long day.

Love to see it.

This has become an escalating trend. When a celebrity posts a throwback pic on social media - like this recent post by Rita Wilson of herself and Beyonce - a friend of mine notices the dingus standing in the background and messages me “This you?”

APB: My true crime book Beverly Hills Noir will be arriving on Audible and other audio book platforms on Feb. 18, where it will be read by one of the top narrators in the game, Donald Corren. I’m excited for you to experience tales of crime, sin and scandal in 90210 in another immersive format.

Alright, what's your
#comicsdna? The comics and books that were formative to you. At least four, more if you're nasty.

It’s the way Nimoy holds the greenie with his paws that really kills me.

Apparently whatever paranormal phenomena was going down at the dog park yesterday, it was enough that the Ghostbusters were able to upgrade their ride.

My action figure of the Wookie bounty hunter Black Krrsantan, in the retro style of the Star Wars toys of my youth, arrived this week. To explain why this makes me happy would be a disservice to my happiness.

You've been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who is coming to save you? (I’m screwed).

Is it just me or is this wax figure of Elton John giving major grown-up Chucky vibes?

I’m stunned to learn of the passing of the tremendous Broadway and TV actress Linda Lavin, best remembered from the sitcom “Alice.” I met her for the first time at the beginning of December and had the loveliest chat with her at the premiere of “No Good Deed.” (1/3)

Somehow I missed this delightful diversion over the last 32 years, until Cynthia introduced me to it tonight. Now I wish they’d made sequels.

Thinking of Stan “The Man” Lee on his birthday. Of course, in the mighty Marvel tradition, after a misunderstanding caused us to trade blows, we teamed up to strike down evil.

If William Shakespeare could have seen Olivia Hussey in his fabled play, I feel confident he, too, would have found her to be the epitome of his star-crossed lover. Adieu, adieu to the all-time great screen Juliet. (1/2)
