Genuinely a slow motion goal

Ok, so we get rid of every player who wasn't signed this summer?
December 1, 2025 at 5:27 PM
you didn't say who Spurs should fire! The key connection is that every single one of these players has looked and played far better under previous managers, either at Tottenham or elsewhere.

Thanks for posting Hal! It baffles me how scared of metrics some fans seem to be! This is just one lens from which to look at our team, and certainly lines up with what fans have noticed all season.
Do you think it's more likely that our results regress, or that our underlying numbers improve?

I think you raise an interesting point about what constitutes "attacking" play. We've scored a lot of goals in the league this season, but I'm not sure I would say we look like we're playing "attacking" football. His Brentford teams were similar (I think, I'm not a Brentford expert).

But that’s sort of the point. Frank hasn’t coached them to know what to do something productive when they do have the ball, so they just hoof it into a channel

This is a sad one so it's ok to cry

Pahlinha, Bergvall, Sarr. Simons doesn’t have the physicality to go up against Chelsea’s midfield when we give him so little service.

Loved the episode! I’m curious who you all think are better goalkeepers in the league than Vic. Only Henderson and Roefs have higher goals prevented this season (fbref), and I’d say Raya, Donnarumma, and Alisson have higher pedigree. What’s your top 5 in the premier league?
October 28, 2025 at 11:10 AM
I’m really curious about progressive passing in general. Obviously Frank is directing the team to play wide and direct. How do we compare to others in the league in terms of how we set up to move the ball forward?

At this point you might as well put the average position of Simons and Bentancur directly next to Odobert and Kudus

Say no to AI slop, even if it seems funny

I think this is as close as we can get to our strongest 11 right now. Save Richarlison for CL, keep building Tel's confidence. Hopefully we see Muani this week.
October 16, 2025 at 4:39 PM
Agree with all of this....and also these same players were at least sliiiightly more passy last year. Some of this is coaching
October 3, 2025 at 1:50 PM
Is there a world where Gray plays midfield and Palhinha drops to center back?
September 24, 2025 at 5:51 PM
There are only two players in your lineup that haven't started a competitive game this season. To me that feels like the kind of rotation we're looking for. Giving players a chance without putting out an extremely weak team.
September 24, 2025 at 1:03 PM
That’s a really fun lineup. I wonder if he works Davies in there somehow
September 23, 2025 at 12:37 PM
But muh narrative!!
September 22, 2025 at 12:13 PM
I really loved the look of the team when we had the starters with xavi in for Bentancur. Odobert didn’t look like a superstar, but still the best we’ve seen him play
September 20, 2025 at 5:20 PM
Great article Jay! Thanks for stating the case for a little patience!
September 17, 2025 at 12:09 PM
I feel like you guys missed an opportunity to have an interesting discussion about rotation! @windycoys.bsky.social and @nathanaclark.bsky.social talking about how much they enjoyed it, only for @barditei.bsky.social to say it worried him. Why no follow up??
September 16, 2025 at 3:33 PM
Because the rules say so
September 3, 2025 at 6:07 PM
I’m guessing just a guy, the idea being he’s such a big Brennan fan he’s giving himself that haircut. It looks a little more like Porro to me
September 2, 2025 at 12:08 PM
I’m not mad about the company he’s in. I’ve heard that Eze guy fits what we’re looking for
