Seriously - of all the professional endeavors I've worked in in my life, racing in general is the most choked with entitled, crass, ethics-free, corrupt bullshit artists of any of them. Donald Trump would be hard-pressed to be as much of a douchebag as a lot of racing power brokers are.

The full-season points championship made each race feel more important. Like an EVENT rather than just another time-waster.
The Chase and its descendants basically made the regular season as dull as... well... the regular season of basically every other sport.

But because the stage/playoff/Chase/whatever the fuck it is is out of favor now, Gluck spun it as a tragedy. Poor Champion Kyle.
