Long, long ago I did a bloggingheads video "debate" with him about the future of Roe v. Wade (back when it was considered alarmist to worry about its potential rollback), & not very far into the conversation I realized that he had done no prep & had, let's just say, stronger opinions than ideas.

Right? The way Blue Moon gets around the single-location issue & feels like a real movie with distinct sections that take place in different parts of the bar is so effective. And Ethan Hawke = nothing short of miraculous in that role. Nouvelle Vague is, I think, more minor Linklater but still great.

Is that really a counterintuitive take? I hope people don't hate this one. I loved it too--a great example of a filmmaker experimenting with new techniques and refusing to stand still. The ending left me in a soggy (but satisfied) heap.

Utterly perplexing why so many of them are dead set against people treating their fever and minor muscle aches with an common over-the-counter medication. Like are they trying to bring down the company for some reason?
