A 64 year old homeless woman was raped and beaten last night while sleeping outside a public library in Adelaide. Violence against women doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It feeds on inequality, on poverty, and on systemic failure.

Marriage isn’t suddenly becoming ‘unpopular’ with women. The same proportion of women who always wanted to get married, still do. But there has been a dramatic decline in the number of women who NEED to get married.

Beautiful women collectively walking out on a rude man to the point that he ends up losing his job, crying and apologising on television, is my favourite kind of feminism. Public humiliation of misogynists really IS prime-time viewing.
