Yesterday was rough. I learned that one of my childhood camp counselors passed after a fight with breast cancer. She was still so young. It's a reminder that this life is short and to be intentional about how our time is spent. And to get a yearly mammogram.

I so enjoy those moments when the natural world just lets you know your place. It helps me keep everything thing else in perspective. Plus, I got to enjoy with my oldest friend. We've known each through 43 years!!

Jack and I were happy to see each other when I got home from the Thanksgiving holiday. The other kitties are more social and adore their cat sitter. But Jack, he's a loner after being abandoned for so long. He's definitely a kitty miracle.

@levarburton.bsky.social I know I'm late to the party...I tend to binge listen on road trips and have one more episode of Levar Burton Reads left. And I can't bear to listen and have it be over for real. 😭

I love this cat. Jack was abandoned as a kitten. I was feeding him for years and earning his trust. He was looking pretty rough when I was able to bring him indoors last fall. We've worked through his health issues. Today is the 1st time he explored outside of his room on his own!

So I was in LA this weekend and saw some art. This piece spoke volumes to me...now, my interpretation isn't the same as the artist's. I saw a woman being hollowed out, stripped of her power, stripped of her identity, reduced to only what people in power allowed her.
